I have used my old coffee maker for over ten years. It still works and makes great coffee, but the handle on the carafe somehow slipped to the side. With the handle out of place, it is difficult to pour coffee into a cup, but I still like my coffee maker. Of course I could have replaced the carafe, but My son decided I needed a new Mr Coffee and wished to get me one as a present.

So what to get? Over the years the choices have really expanded. I don’t like programmable models. The coffee grounds that sit overnight become stale while waiting for the alarm to start brewing. I like my coffee fresh.

My son found this Mr. Coffee 12 Cup Switch model which exceeds all my requirements. I started using this coffee maker and it is really good. It is easy to keep clean, which is important for making great coffee. It has a “Pause and Serve” that allows a person to take a first cup, without any spillage, while it is still brewing. It also comes with a one year warranty (but if it is anything like my last one it will last many years).

I highly recommend this Mr. Coffee.
