Advertising a home business on the internet is not exactly rocket science. If it were I could publish it as a report and sell it for alot of money, because everyone would want it.
In this article I am going to offer 3 tips you can follow to promote your home business online.
1. No traffic equals no sales for your business. So you really should get your website up the way you want it to be. Then spend the rest of the time marketing it in as many free and paid ways as you can afford.
You will get traffic a whole lot faster with paid advertising as your budget allows. This is especially true for pay per click advertising such as Google Adwords.
Take your time before starting any paid advertising and learn more about it. Purchasing traffic is not a guarantee of success.
2. Article marketing is the most effective form of free advertising. This is even truer if you combine blogging with it.
Articles are only as good as the people who read them so you need to get them out in the marketplace where people can find them.
You can manually submit your articles to article directories and social directories if money is tight for you. If you can afford it use a submission service to submit your articles to multiple directories.
Use a bookmarking service such as Only Wire to reach more social directories when bookmarking a blog post. This is faster than waiting for your readers to do it.
3. For long term home based business success nothing beats having an email list to market to. You are always better off to send your traffic to a landing page rather than your home page when doing list building.
The only exception to this would be if you put your sign-up form on your website where your visitors could find it. This means putting it on the upper left hand corner of the page above the fold.
Having a quality email list is an excellent way to continue to drive traffic even when people are not joining your business at first. One example would be if you wrote a blog article and posted it in your blog.
You could send an email out to your list and include a couple of sentences with a link back to your blog post. It’s just one way of getting traffic from your email list.
Online advertising for a home business is not an exact science as you can see. And if you work really hard at it you will be able to drive useful traffic to your business website.
