You are not the only one looking to do this!
It is a huge area, with lots of different opportunities. However the first thing you should really do is to get a website.
You can then sign up to different organisations that have products you can promote. The two most popular are http://www.clickbank.com and http://www.commissionjunction.com.
I would really also recommend joining http://www.warriorforum.com.

Rapid Action Profts (RAP) uses paypal, so you don’t have to wait on CJ or Clickbank to send the checks. It’s more expensive, but it’s really good.

Which affiliate marketing program offers many magazines to promote for a commission?
I tried paydotcom.com but they do not have normal lifestyle magazines. I want magazines which talk about relationships, fashion etc. I have tried looking for an affiliate program with such to no avail.
