One very popular way of promotion that used to be the hot new thing in marketing is internet marketing advertising using banner ads. Banner ads are still very much with us of course. You still see them every time you’re online.
But take a moment to think about just how many banner ads you actually saw last time you went online, all of those companies advertising in those banner ads are huge companies with advertising budgets to match.
Small business can simply not afford to pay the huge amount of money it would cost to advertise in a prime spot like MSN homepage ect.
Then along came PPC Pay-Per-Click and changed the way online promotion could be done. Now, a business owner can have a small ad displayed through a vast program of providing ads on various websites, and be charged a certain fee each time a consumer clicks on the link. It’s essentially paying for traffic, and the traffic is targeted in that the ad should only show on a relevant website.
If a website is selling second hand books or comics for example, and the site owner is involved with googles PPC program each time someone is searching using google for second hand books and clicks on one of the second hand book advertisements displayed on googles page it will cost the business owner.
One of the most important changes in internet marketing is googles views on SEO.. Search Engine Optimization. Before google took huge action Websites would full their pages and posts full of keywords to get hits for a variety of different searches, it didn`t matter if the information was on the site or not, it was called `keyword stuffing`. Google quickly put an end to this as it was giving their users a less than friendly search result.
Keyword “stuffing” will now get your or anybody elses site blackballed from a search. This keeps web searchers from entering keywords like “Best Laptop” and getting search engine listings advertising adult porn or a website giving links to movie downloads.
Now in the google world of SEO, websites have to use keywords correctly to show their content is expert and unique content and not just a list of random keywords that have been used for spamming purposes. The growing sophistication of the search engines makes using tactics like `keyword stuffing` and other methods of spamming to get the most hits a crazy thing to do since google can actually block your site from showing up in the search results. The use of proper SEO using researched keywords and methods will put your website in top search results over time.
When you get that traffic, You need to convert the traffic into sales they say a reader has to see the same information around 7 times before he or she will make a purchase, One of the best methods of internet marketing advertising is by advertising to people who have given you permission to send them emails through an opt-in list.
Visitors to your website will be enticed to sign up for your mailing list by you offering a free ebook download or a report that you feel could be interesting to the reader. Then you have their permission do some of your most effective internet marketing advertising–sending them very targeted ads though emails.

The great thing about starting an internet marketing company is the low start up cost. I can’t think of any other business where the start up costs are so minimal.
The best way to start is by becoming an affiliate marketer. You can set up a free account with clickbank.com. There you can market hundreds of products (down loadable). Clickbank is the place to start because they except everyone and you don’t need a web site.
There is a lot to know about internet marketing, the learning curve can be very large because of all the bogus information you’ll come across online.
However, there is a place called Wealthy Affiliate University where you’ll shorten the learning curve by getting help from successful marketers who are willing to help others succeed. It’s a membership site that costs less than $1 a day!
They started me out on an 8 week action plan. Each week I learned more about the business and then would take action and implement the things I learned.
Article marketing or blogging is the most cost effective way to start, but first you must learn about keyword research, SEO (search engine optimization and relevance). Knowing this stuff will help your articles rank with the search engines, thus giving you much traffic.
Your articles need to be targeted and relevant to the product you’re recomending. Notice that I said recomending instead of selling.
You’ll have more success if you recomend products that will help or fulfill a need for someone, just as I’m doing here.
You see, the job of an affiliate marketer is to connect people with what they’re looking for. It’s not the idea of trying to sell something to someone. You are providing a service by helping people find what they’re looking for.

Try joining an advertising network. Advertising networks are organizations that aggregate Web sites that offer advertising space, and sell banner ads (and other advertising options) across them.
You must have a website, though, and some a pretty strict in that they don’t accept sites hosted for free such as Geocities. They also have traffic requirement, which is often a minimum of 5,000 monthly impressions.

Good for you! The first thing you need to do is to find something that you’re passionate about. Then go to http://Squidoo.com and create a site there Those sites are called lenses, but they are actually just monetized blogs. They are very user friendly and the search engines love them! Add as much content to the site as possible-but that’s not all. You should definitely have an optin form on the site so that people can get a free report and some kind of useful gift when they give you their name and email address. You should have an autoresponder to create the form and to manage all of your communication with your list members. I recommend either GetResponse.com or http://Aweber.com They are both good.
Once they are on your list, you have the freedom to offer them more things in the same name niche. But don’t let every letter have offers. Some should be just good information. Build a relationship with these people. Call them on the phone if you have time. Go to conferences and meet them in person.
Don’t just see them as wallets. They are people with troubles and desires. If you tap into what makes them tick and truly want to help them, you will be able to create useful products that you can feel good about offering to them. It’s just wonderful when people thank you for taking their money in exchange for your own product-especially if your product is digital!
I highly recommend that you get into that type of area. Imagine getting paid and never having to stock or even touch anything!
