Craigslist Free Ads Vs Free Article Marketing, Which one is better?

By valeri On June 8, 2010 Under Affiliate Marketing

In this article I’m going to compare Craigslist which is free to article marketing which is also free.

About Craigslist:
One of the good things about Craigslist is that when you place your free ads you do get a lot of response since Craigslist is the 26th busiest website in the whole world. Many times you can sell your item quickly however if you do business on Craigslist then it’s not so easy.

Because you know as a business person that you have to continually place ads on Craigslist because eventually they will expire or get flagged by a user. Craigslist also generates what’s called reverse spam which is where people actually send spam to the people who place ads on Craigslist

There are also a lot of scammers on craigslist and if you’re not very savvy you can easily be taken advantage of and in some cases you can even get robbed.

About Article Marketing:

The biggest benefit of free article marketing is that once you submit the article and it goes live then that’s it, you have nothing left to do except to make money off of it. The more articles that you can generate with back links to your website or product then the more visibility your website will get from search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. The more traffic you generate then the more profits will reap. If you had one article and that was producing $10 a month in sales then imagine what 100 similar articles would generate in a month, yup about $1000 a month. This is how article marketing works.

The biggest complaint I hear from article marketers is that they couldn’t stop the money from coming in even if they wanted to. You just can’t turn it off when you have hundreds or thousands  of articles all pointed towards your website or affiliate partner.

You’re probably asking yourself.  Do I make a lot of money article marketing? I’m actually pretty new at this but yes I have made quite a bit of money considering how long I’ve actually been doing it. I think after a couple years it would be safe to say that I’ll be earning upwards of about $250,000 a year if I continue to go at the rate I’m going now.

Good to see another proponent of some actual work being done to succeed. It is a shame that people in general look to the quick fix rather than spending the time creating quality content. The longevity and backlink potential of article marketing is undervalued by most newbies.
