Malta Holiday Deals & Hotels
Submitted by: Victor
Island of Malta lies in the Mediterranean Sea and is
well known on the travel market of Europe and of the entire world as
a great holiday destination. Tourists are attracted by this little
country due to its beaches, but also due to its rich history and
cultural heritage. Because of its strategical position, this island
has been craved by all powers which have been dominated the
Mediterranean basin. Consequently (with a known history which go back
in time 7000 years!) the Maltese archipelago has been ruled, among
others, by Saracens, Muslims and The Sovereign Military Hospitable
Order of St. John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes, and of Malta, better known
as Knights of St. John or Knights of Malta, the last ones leaving the
most powerful political and cultural mark over the island.
As a main travel destination, holiday
deals to Malta are plentiful and are tailored for all
vacation budgets. Most hotels
in Malta offer great deals, indifferently of the number of
stars that it have. There are good budget 3 star hotels which offer
cheap accommodation (such as Hotel Sea View, Hotel Plaza Regency,
Hotel Burlington, Hotel Metropole, Hotel Porto del Sol, Hotel
Panorama), but also 4 and 5 star hotels which offer luxurious holiday
deals, many of them including all-inclusive vacation packages. Some
of the best luxury hotels are Hotel Radisson SAS Bay Point Resort,
Hotel Ta’Cenc, Hotel Paradise Bay, Hotel Windsor, Maritim Antonine
Hotel & Spa, Hotel Qawra Palace, San Antonio Hotel & Spa, and
Hotel Golden Tulip Vivaldi, to enumerate just a few of them.
Located almost in the center of Mediterranean Sea,
Malta attracts, of course, a large number of tourists seeking to
spend beach holidays. The weather is warm all year round (even too
hot in summer!), just like the crystal-clear waters of the sea,
accommodation is great, people are very friendly, so no doubt that
holiday deals to Malta belong to the most demanded at travel
agencies. Beside travelers who have beaches as main vacation target,
Malta attracts many people who are interested primary in its culture,
history and architecture. Especially Knights of Malta have left
behind them an impressive large number of architectural treasures
like military buildings and churches. A list with just a few
buildings well wort for a visit in Valetta, the capital city of the
country, include St. John’s Cathedral, Our Lady of Victories Church,
St. Francis of Assisi Church, The Grandmaster’s Palace, Grandmaster’s
Palace Armoury Museum, forts Saint Elmo and Saint James Cavalie,
squares St. John, St. George, Queen’s Square and Great Siege Square,
and places like Castellania, the former law court of Knights of
Malta.
With so many natural and human made attractions
which can be enjoyed on a relatively small area (the entire country
is only 316 square kilometers large!) it is understandable why
holiday deals to Malta are well quoted on the travel market and
hotels in Malta are crowded almost permanently! Because of the large
number of people who are planning each year holidays in Malta,
tourists are advised to book their hotel room well in advance before
to start their journey!

Hiya, Harsh,
In what season will you be vising Costa Rica? From my experience, the majority of mainstream hotels do not offer student pricing, but they do offer ´green season´ prices which are lower due to possibilities of inclement weather and tourism drop-off. In this particular travel climate, many hotels are willing to negotiate something lower than their usual prices to draw business in off season–I have not found that to be the case in high season.
Definitely do bring your student ID as many of the Tour operators offer student pricing and discounts for excusrions, whcih could save you a significant amount. All of the national parks have student entrance pricing as well–the main draw here in CR, since most of us come here to see the wildlife…
You can look under the terms backpackers, mochilleros, hostels etc. to try and find low cost housing, but you´ll also find the majority of cabinas in Costa Rica are simple, clean and reasonably inexpensive.
What type of budget are you travelling on? While I personally own and manage a luxury boutique hotel in Monteverde, I spent my first year backpacking throughout the country. Perhaps I could make some specific suggestions if you give me an idea of season, budget and destinations–or would you like suggestions?

Some of those good deals are by frequent stays. If you are staying in a hotel only a few days a year, those bonus deal do not apply.

Can I get better hotel deals in Vegas by just showing up at those hotels and not pre-booking?
I heard the hotels have a high vacancy rate and that if you just show up and ask for their best deal, it’s better than any pre-booked deals. Is this true?

how do you find deals on hotels for smaller towns?
I know that there are websites that offer deals to big hotels in great big cities. But are there ways to find deals in smaller towns as well? We want to take a weekend trip to a local city, and want to get a good deal on a room, is there any way to do this besides call every one in the phone book and ask their rates? It is Joplin, MO. I have found websites that cover Chicago and New York, etc, but not smaller towns. Any help will be great.

Is there any other online service that is similar to Priceline and Hotwire for great deals on hotels?
I’ve been having no luck in finding a 5 day hotel stay at a reasonable price for Virginia Beach seaside starting next Sunday. I’ve been using both Priceline and Hotwire over the last couple weeks. Can anyone give me any other suggestions for finding great hotel deals online?
