Get Your Ex Back – No Contact is the Most Effective Approach

After a break up with your partner, there’s a rule that just about everyone agrees on, and that is maintaining no contact with your ex, especially if you want get him or her back. Actually it’s an accepted rule that might not seem conducive to a reconciliation on the face of it, but you’ll be surprised how effective it can be. So, even if breaking off all contact with your ex seems completely contradictory to your ultimate goal of winning him/her back, have faith in this rule.

Truth is, it is the most useful strategy you can put to use to get your ex running back into your arms. When you’re no longer in touch, your ex will want to know what you’re up to and will start valuing your presence more. After all, absence does make the heart fonder! And human beings have a tendency to desire what they don’t have or can’t have. But, of course, there are a few exceptions to the no contact rule. These are some to keep in mind:

Exception 1: Think It Through

Each and every article and forum on getting your ex back stresses that whatever you do, don’t keep in touch with your ex. Now, this is generic advice. Only you know your exact situation and can gauge whether this applies to your specific case. If your break up led a lot of pain and both you and your ex are hurting badly, then open and honest communication would probably be the best way forward for both of you.

Exception 2: The Larger Picture

In case your relationship was long term, your ex and you are bound to have common friends and your families have probably got involved as well. Not telling your ex about a major happening in your family, relatives or friends circle isn’t the best thing you can do. Imagine if your ex found out that your aunt died last week from another source, since you didn’t bother letting them know! That doesn’t bode well for a reconciliation. Your ex will feel left out and hurt. But you need to know which news is worth sharing with your ex partner and which can be kept to yourself. You’re the best person to decide since you know your ex well and will also know who and what means a lot to him/her. So, news pertaining to the people they’re fond of and things that mean a lot to them would definitely be worth sharing.

Exception 3: Your Ex Gets In Touch

If some time has gone by since the break up and speaking to your ex makes you feel good, then by all means pick up the phone and return their call or reply to their email. After all, you do want your ex back and completely ignoring their attempts to reach out to you, after spending some time apart, won’t exactly help in getting them back. Again, you know best when enough time has gone by since you last spoke or met. That time away is healthy and needed after a break up, but it only serves the purpose up to a point. So, don’t completely avoid your ex if they try to call you.

Why is getting your ex back so important to you?
