How to Get the Most Out of Your Craigslist Searches in 3 Easy Steps

Craigslist.org is a popular classified website.  Whether you are looking to rent an apartment, find a new job, buy a house, buy a used car, or find a great deal on everyday items, like furniture, you can do it.  With that said, you may run into a few search problems.

The easiest way to find what you need on Craigslist is to perform a search.  However, there are limitations in place.  The classified website is city based.  Users must select their state and city.  You then search that area alone.  There is not a multi-location search feature found.  This can make searching a long, difficult, and stressful process.  Luckily, there is good news.  You can get the most out of your searches in 3 easy steps.

Step #1 – Download a Craigslist Search Tool

Step #2 – Make a List of Search Phrases

To find what you want on Craigslist, you must search for it.  The search phrases you use are very important.  If you are looking for a job, you aren’t just going to search with the word “job.”  This will produce too little or too many results.  You need to use targeted keyword phrases.  These can include the position of the job or the duties performed.  If looking for baby supplies, good search phrases include baby, cribs, strollers, baby clothes, and so forth.
