How To Sign Up Web Hosting
If you want to build up your Internet Business for the long term (I don’t see why you shouldn’t), you need to have your own website – And you center your Internet Business around your website.
In order to set up your own website, you need 2 things – a domain name (so that people will be able to locate you on the Internet) as well as web hosting (so that you can store the files for your website).
I’ve decided to write this post to guide you how you can sign up for your web hosting step-by-step because I notice that several newbie Internet Marketers encounter problems in this area. However, before you set up your hosting service, you must already have purchased a domain name.
When it comes to web hosting, there are many companies available on the Internet that provides this service – So, which web hosting company should you sign up for?
In my personal opinion, I would strongly recommend that you sign up with Hostgator. The reasons are because there are:
No Downtime - I’ve been using the service for more than 3 years, and have not experienced any downtime (a downtime with the hosting service means that your website will not be accessible by your visitors, which could mean a loss in income)
Extremely Prompt & Friendly Support Desk – There’s a round the clock support desk available to help you with any questions you may have with your web hosting – And most of the times, questions are resolved on the spot.
Affordable – You can get yourself a web hosting for as little as $4.95 a month.
Step #01 – Visit HostGator’s Website
After you’ve gained access to HostGator’s website, you need to locate this “Web Hosting”, and click on it.
Step #02 – Choosing Hosting Service Type
There are many hosting plans available for you to choose from – Ranging from “Hatchling Plan” (which is the cheapest) to “Business Plan” (which is the most expensive).
For the start, I would recommend that you sign up for the “Hatchling Plan”, since you probably have only one domain name at the moment (you can always upgrade the plan whenever the need arises).
With regard to the prices, it varies – If you prefer to pay for your hosting service 3 years in advance, it would cost just $4.95/month (meaning you have to pay $4.95/month x 36 months = $178.20). I would suggest that you opt for the monthly plan – where you’ll be billed $8.95 every single month, so that it will not be too taxing for your wallet.
After you’ve selected your hosting plan, you are required to enter your domain name (if you have not gotten yourself a domain name yet, you need to get it now before continuing).
Step #03 – Enter Billing Information
Before your hosting service account is activated, you are required to enter your billing information.
One thing you might want to take note here pertaining to billing. If you do not wish to be billed in advance, make sure you select the option “1 Month @ 8.95/mo” under “Billing Cycle”.
After you have supplied the billing information, your web hosting account will be set up instantly and you are now ready to host your website (so that the public can now access it by entering your domain name).
I hope you’ll find this post useful in helping you set up your web hosting.
