Internet – Affiliate Marketing, the Good and the Bad
What Is the good and bad of getting started In Internet/Affiliate marketing?
Well I’m not quite sure how to accurately answer that! As everyone will form their own opinions based on their own unique experiences online.
But I can give you my perception the (good and the bad) of how I have found it since I started in Internet and Affiliate Marketing.
Ok I’m going to be straight up with you. Since I have been Involved with both Internet And Affiliate marketing I have spent hundreds of hours learning and applying that which I’ve learnt and then putting it into practice. And I can honestly say it’s been crazy at times with information overload.
When I first started out I had no “Techy” computer skills, Zero/zilch. All I Really knew how to do was turn on my computer and how to get online but that was about as far as it went for me!
So I had a mammoth task just learning the basics.
It’s been an incredible journey to date but hugely frustrating as well. I had to learn all about the basics of internet/affiliate marketing like…
What was the difference between Internet and affiliate marketing? What was the traffic methods involved? What did I need to get started? Where would I go to get the tools I needed? What essential tools did I need? How much would I need to put aside for advertising or for a budget in general?
Slowly the picture came together for me. I’m going to be honest and say it’s no walk in the park figuring out what’s all involved!
The percentage of those who are actually making a good living from this stuff is nothing short of appalling but to be honest I can now see why!!
You see a lot of people are lured by the hype that comes with internet and affiliate marketing! They are lead to believe that making money online is easy and you can make money like an a.t.m? If that was true then why is the success percentage so appallingly low?
In fact it’s about 94 to 95% of people who aren’t able to make more than $10.00 online a week.
Shocking huh! Well as I was saying this is because there are so many work at home opportunities out there saying that there system is the best that they will have a newbie making endless cash in no time at all with little or no effort.
Of course the majority just say this so they can get you to buy into there offer. So The new person joins their money making programme not realising that there is so much involved to learn and so much to do before they even get to the money making part!
So the newbie to Internet/Affiliate marketing becomes frustrated and loses faith in what they are doing.
They become unfocused and as a result they begin bouncing from one opportunity to the next in search of the next magical system that will see them making their millions easily, wasting hundreds if not thousands of dollars in the process or they decide that it’s just not worth it all together!
But here’s the upside of the picture! You could look at the poor success percentage and think how could I possibly make money if over 90% of people are making $10.00 or less a week? Or you could say wow if I’m prepared to be patient and put in the necessary time and effort to learning this stuff I could be part of the top 5 to 6%.
I mean for me I had some seriously frustrating times getting to where I’ve got to this far, but once I realised the odds It only encouraged me to learn more, to be a part of this amazing opportunity.
You see, it was like once I knew that only 5 to 6% were actually doing well then that meant the competition was really only in that top percentage. Meaning once you worked it all out it would undoubtedly give you the kind of life that we all seek and the kind of life we all deserve.
The trick I used to stay focused towards achieving a spot in the top 5 to 6% required me to find and apply techniques that the other 94 to 95% either don’t know or aren’t using.
And to do that just means learning all you can, studying all you can and applying all you can. Then it becomes not a matter of how I will reach the 5 to 6% but rather when?!
There’s no mystery to making the top 5 to 6% it’s kind of like lotto. The more you play the higher your chances of having a windfall. I mean here’s the reality; you could spend endless dollars on a heap of lotto tickets, week in and week out for the next 50 years and still not win!
Or you could spend 3 to 5 years worth of study and learning and apply all the Information and techniques you have learnt and you could quite easily be making a lot more money than any possible winnings you may win from lotto! Some have made incredible fortunes in Internet Marketing in less than two years.
If you’re looking for an easy get rich quick scheme, then I strongly advise you not to bother with Internet/Affiliate marketing. It takes heaps of focus/grit and determination! If you see yourself as a real go-getter then maybe this would suit you down to the tee!
Some sound advice for anyone looking to join the Internet/Affiliate Marketing family… Always look at potential customers as people and not money!
There’s a wonderful online philosophy that all would do well to learn and apply towards achieving success online and here it is…. Always help others to achieve what they want to achieve and you will undoubtedly achieve that which you desire!
