From the Baltimore City Paper: “J. Roddy Walston and the Business is what would happen if Queen and Black Oak Arkansas birthed four boys in the backwoods and let them listen to nothing but Cheap Trick and showtunes”.
The only thing better than this record is seeing the band live!

I saw this group for the first time when they opened for Lucero earlier this summer. After their totally bomb knock-your-knickers off set, all i could say was, “Ohhhmyyygawwwd. Lucero WHO??” I never write reviews. Ever. But this is hands down one of the best albums of the year for the following reasons: 1) Don’t Break the Needle, 2) Brave Man’s Death, 3) I Don’t Wanna Hear It, 4) music is best when you get it from folks who are obviously having the time of their lives playing it, 5) THIS is what rock & roll is supposed to sound like. Thanks J Roddy & The Business.

I first heard of this band because the are opening for Shooter Jennings and Hierophant in October here in Nashville. I previewed the album and was I thought they had a very unique sound. This album packs a strong punch, with my favorite track Full Growing Man. The energy is awesome from track to track. Key tracks are: Pigs & Pearls, Brave Man’s Death and I Don’t Wanna Hear It.
