Oprah Out Of Line With Chris Brown And Rihanna

Author: Daniel Asamota
I believe that everyone on this planet has heard about the incident between Chris Brown and his girlfriend Rihanna. Allegedly they had a fight the night they were supposed to be at the Grammy awards performing. It is purported that the fight started over text messages that Chris Brown received from allegedly another woman and Rihanna with that West Indian temperament started attacking her man over this issue. Apparently Chris held back and the issue was dropped, so he thought, but on the way to the awards she started up again and like in her previous fashion got violent again. Then this is where it gets kind of hairy because purportedly Chris stopped the car and fought back furiously allegedly inflicting some wounds on Rihanna. Everyone saw the doctored photo being passed around the various news outlets and Rihanna had her assistant to call the police for Chris had allegedly put her out of the car on the side of the highway. Okay, that’s what I’ve read and heard along with everyone else, along with the subsequent charges filed against Chris and the fallout from this incident where everyone is predicting the end of his career and the like. Another unusual thing is that more celebrities than usual seemed to weigh in with their own opinions and their own take on the matter and even more astounding how quickly they all took sides, most in Rihanna’s behalf. Jay Z hired bodyguards that follow her everywhere and Chris has become the butt of every late night comedians jokes inasmuch as violence towards women is concerned. Though Rihanna has not commented on the incident and isn’t talking about what happened to anyone, she’s got plenty of those speaking for her and principal among those seem to be Oprah Winfrey. She had a bonzai ratings bonanza kicking Chris Brown around on her show as she has been accused of (and seems to do) all men. When Chris Brown put out his statement of apology for the incident, Oprahs girlfriend Gayle King claimed she wasn’t convinced of his sincerity. Okay, she’s a doctor in what science that says she’s expert in determining who’s lying and telling the truth? I mean to make such a statement she surely had to have the credentials to assert such a thing, correct? Eitherway, Chris has accrued a mountain of problems with losing endorsements, radio stations dropping his records from their playlist, and the LAPD going ahead to try him in court though it seems that Rihanna changed her mind about pressing charges. Ironically, they passed a law giving them that authority after Michael Jackson’s accuser refused to press ahead with charges against him and the prosecution was so furious that they couldn’t go ahead they pressed for this law to be passed that Chris Brown now finds himself facing. With all that the barrage of negative press that continues to ensue is not helping this matter any at all and Oprah Winfrey is right out there with the others keeping this matter in the national headlines with her posturing and opinions.
Well everyone knows by now that Chris and Rihanna are back together (as I figured they would be) and a personal matter between two people in a relationship has all these other unwanted elements attached to it simply because they are celebrities. This sort of drama plays out everyday just about anywhere in America, anywhere in the world and none of this ensues in most of these cases unless a death has occurred which was not the case here. Yet Oprah Winfrey felt she should do a show on domestic abuse not in itself a bad thing, but then she also warns Rihanna, ‘if a man has hit you once, he will do it again! He will do it again!’ Okay, I would like to know how Oprah Winfrey knows this? Now correct me if I’m wrong but I could have sworn her degree was in telecommunications, not psychology or abnormal behavior. I mean, does she at least have a degree in counseling? Now if I’m wrong I’m man enough to admit it but she’s on national t.v. bashing this kid and she doesn’t know all the facts of the case, in fact NO ONE DOES except the two involved and the LAPD. So how can she make such assertions without having all of the facts at hand? And then how can she interpolate this information and draw a conclusion without Doctor in front of her name? She’s not the only one, but she’s one I’m truly surprised in. She’s courting a serious lawsuit and I would think she would be smarter than that. Plus Chris Brown has taken an unwarranted beating in the press that Motley Crue drummer Tommie Lee didn’t get when he jumped on Pamela Anderson THREE TIMES, or Rick Sprinfield either who the LAPD didn’t INSIST on filing charges against him when his wife dropped the case. Then all of these threats to his livelihood and his well being, he has not been treated fairly by the media at any phase of this process and his youth and inexperience has not been taken into account in any of this. If he did hit Rihanna, that was definitely wrong, but equally wrong was for her to provoke a violent confrontation with him over an issue that they should have separated over and spoke about another day when cooler heads would prevail. And as you can see they kissed and made up anyway now that all of these various people and entities have made fools of themselves getting entangled in the unpredictable machinations of a love affair. It seems they want to punish Chris for this, when all concerned (except the law since they WERE called) should have stayed out of it and allowed these two young people to work it out at their own pace and time. They both made a terrible mistake, but Chris Brown shouldn’t have to pay more than Rihanna or anyone else has who’s faced similar problems thus far. He’s a young kid, got his life ahead of him, and he didn’t kill anybody so he should be allowed to learn from this mistake and move on to make more good records and do what he was put here to do; perform and entertain the crowds. Rihanna also but the main thing is that BOTH of them need to know that violence isn’t always the way to solve a problem, especially in a relationship and the Oprah Winfrey’s of the world need to learn to keep their comments in check because Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King were way out of line with their comments and anyone else who made similar comments with no proper credentials too and hopefully Chris will help them to ‘get help’ with legal action once his current problems are behind him.

Honestly….I felt for rihanna, especially when i saw the pics they released of her face. It happens all the time, but its like, i really did feel for her, could you imagine if that was your daughter who got beat up like that, initially….you would wanna f*** chris brown up. then when people started hearing about how caring and considerate and sorry and apologetic he was, and yeah…i would imagine he was sincere and would take it back and lost control over his emotions, but to see rihanna (or any woman) get beat like she did, or worse, or hit, or bit, etc. is crazy. It changes things. It almost looks as if people are riding a wave saying “oh, we should stay out of their business, things like these happen all the time”, and yeah we should respect their business, but theyre celebrities with public lives and images and fans or non fans (with opinions, like mine) who wanna talk about it (just like you). <—no offense just sharing an example. He didnt accidentally lose it, slip up and hit her, realize he was wrong and stop, he hit her repeatedly, both eyes, lips, face swollen. imagine what she was going through when it happened. Right before that he flips and yells “im gonna kill you”….what if he would accidentally beat her to death, everyone would be after chris so bad, the media, people would care.. shes ganna be scared, of someone she thought she could trust. Yeah its their life, but fame and money that they have in most cases comes with the trade off of their privacy. Chris was wrong, but hopefully everything will work itself out. And no offense but you cared enough to ask the question. Do i care..no, but i obviously cared enough to write an essay to answer your question. lol
one things for sure, everyone wants to know all the details from start to finish. I wanna know everything. Hell i bought that dude cd. I dont have rights, but im gonna be trying to figure out what went on. I read that people magazine while waiting in line at walmart today with rihanna on cover. H3ll yeah im nosy.

We are humans, and as such we have a natural fascination with each other. You can go back to the beginning of time and you will find someone that the masses (regular joe’s) have passed their time discussing. This is not new. But, with the mass media of today, only more obvious. What’s more fascinating than a young talented man with the adoration of millions of our young girls, that was in a violent confrontation with his girlfriend?
Certainly not the recession, which we all know about personally, since our pocketbooks remind us daily. And not the much argued over nonsensical stimulous plan. It will be interesting when something actually gets done.
And Michael Phelps? Come on he smoked marijuana. I can’t say I know many who haven’t at least tried it. He is a 23 year old in Europe, SURPRISE! seriously this was not shocking or frankly that interesting. He was being a young dumb guy, it’s a right of passage to get caught and called on for doing something stupid.
I frankly hope the media doesn’t let this go. I hope all the young girls out there will see that a man who beats up a woman, for whatever reason, is going to have to pay. I hope all young men see it repeatedly and see what happens to a man, even a famous and adored one, that beats a woman. She wasn’t slapped or shoved, she suffered what was refered to in the police report as “significant damage” to her right eye. And her face, as was reported by a witness to her appearance, looked like a bullfrog. Those are not given by someone defending himself. Violence against women must not be tolerated. We must not let it be swept under the rug. It is never ok. Ever.

I think that it is wrong. But it means that there are a lot of women out there who are not going to have a good date. Why? Because a lot of women are passive aggressive. If I get one, I just dump them. But there are men who hang out with them – hit them – then they make up. If she was not partly responsible, she would not get back with him. So I think that it is their business what they do, short of his poking her eye out or breaking a bone and we should intervene only if she seeks help. What is the point of prosecuting people that the victim does not want to prosecute? She has plenty of money and friends and family. She is not being oppressed by him. He is not running a cult.
I think that you are right and that she is a complete fool to be involved with someone who would do that to her, but we do not know what she has been doing to him. I think that they are both losers when it comes to relationships. She likes it rough is the only conclusion open.

Why is the country scrutinizing the Rihanna and Chris Brown situation?
Once again the whole country has taken its attention off what really matters and is more concern about this situation oppose to the Recession/Depression, failing economy, and rejected stimulus plan. Also everyone has forgotten about the doped out Michael Phelps. Which now I’m starting to believe this whole media frenzy surrounding Chris Brown & Rihanna is simply being used to take all the attention away from Michael Phelps future drug addiction. The media once again is going to destroy the careers of two bright artist (i.e. East Coast vs. West Coast — Tupac & Biggie). This world is so crazy…

Am I the only one that doesnt care about this whole Chris Brown/Rihanna incident?
Millions of women get abused each year (alot worse than a couple of chris brown slaps) and these two over hyped (over played i might add) celebrities steal the spotlight….I feel bad about the whole situation but in the end why should we care about these two?

What do you think about the chris brown rihanna case?
I think that its always wrong to put your hands on a girl or woman. I think that is absolutely sick. I am a highschool student and i really liked chris brown just like every other girl. But then when everything came out i was so shocked because chris didnt seem like that kind of guy. Its just sad that he screwed up his career over a text message !
What do u guys think
