How To Make A Solar Power Panel-Learn How To Make A Solar Power Panel

Author: N Jamal

The best thing about solar power is that it has an unlimited potential. Learning how to make a solar power panel is neither technical nor costly; in fact you can easily solar power your complete home for a very small and affordable investment. You just need to know how to make your own renewable energy source and today I am going to tell you exactly how to make your own solar power panel

If you want to learn how to make a solar power panel, you’ll need to learn some basics on how exactly does a solar panel works. This way, the entire procedure will be much easier to handle.

The process starts with solar modules. They are the main components exposed directly to sunlight. Their main function is to convert the sun’s energy into usable electrical power for your home appliances. To get them correctly installed, solar modules are to be mounted on a steel frame and positioned on your roof top.

Power produced by the solar modules is converted from Direct Current (DC) to Alternating Current (AC) through a inverter. Usually, Alternating Current (AC) is the usable electrical power that we need to power the home appliances.

Next, the electrical power transfers from the inverter to the electrical service panel. The electrical service panel is used for distributing the electrical power to different parts of your house or office for use.

The unused electrical power produced by the solar panels will then be brought into the grid all the way through the utility electric meter. As a result, the meter will be made to spin backwards and this establishes a credit with the utility company in offsetting future usage. This method is known as Net Metering and is completely approved by State Level Electricity Policy.

Learning how to make a solar power panel isn’t really a difficult task. You don’t require many skills beyond being able to handle wiring & basic tools with care and safety measures.

The components needed for constructing solar panels include:-

1. Solar Cells
2. Sheet Plywood
3. Copper Wire
4. General Tools (Drills, screwdrivers, woodwork glue etc)
5. Clear PVC Sheeting

All these components can be easily picked up by you from the local hardware store. Photovoltaic cell is the only component that you might have to search online and it can be found easily on eBay.

Quality directions that are easy to follow are vital to find when trying to learn how to make solar panel. This will make the building process less stressful and make you happier that you made the choice to do it yourself. Online is just one of the places you are able to find some of these manuals. We have reviewed the best guides available to help you to learn how to build solar panel. Go ahead and check them out NOW……learn how to make a solar power panel and STOP paying for electricity…FOREVER!

One squre foot = 0.093 meters squared
    thus
One squre foot = 93W on a clear day.

Your voltage will determine the current. If you have a long time to wait, you can lower the voltage to about 4 volts. In my experience with electrolysis; if you wait a long time, like a day or so, the hydrogen permeates your container and all you have left is water vapor. I usually use a 24v 4 amp power supply to get a gallon(of vapor) in like 15 minutes. Horribly inefficient, but practical.

I could do the math but it will likely take more than 30 years for a 12×12 panel to electrolyze 1 gallon of water.

    Hope that helps

Sure you can use a solar panel and dump the output into a bank of 12V batteries as an example. However, you need an inverter which converts the 12DC into 120VAC so you can run your toaster. The cheaper/cheapest inverters give you a simple (bipolar) square wave. using a switching transformer. Then there are the ones who have a stepped waveform (4 steps being the minimum with a distinct zero portion) and the very expensive ones deliver a sine wave. The latter is basically a DC amplifier with a 60Hz sine oscillator driving the power section. The sine wave can also be derived from a digitized signal with various numbers of steps.

EDIT: I assumed that anyone using an inverter knows that one can not power a 500W microwave with a 100W inverter.

as long as the panel produces the voltage and current the lamp needs, yes.
if not, you will need a converter or inverter.
and most people hook the panel to a battery and the lamp to the battery. it evens out the bright sun days and cloudy days, and a lamp that only works when the sun is out, is not much good.

New Mexico is a good area for solar.

Unfortunately, solar electric panels generally don’t save money over grid electricity until the installed system is large – like, 1000 watts or more, 4000 watts being a common size. This costs many thousands of dollars up front, which hopefully are paid back over the years in electricity savings.

There are a couple other things to look into, though. The first is conservation and efficiency. If you can shade and insulate your house so that the air conditioner doesn’t run so much, that can pay for itself in a year.

Also, NM is an excellent place for a solar water heater. Call a solar installer to see how much it would cost. That would pay back in a few years, with a much smaller investment than solar electric.

Is there a way to hook up a solar power panel to a small appliance?
i was wondering if i could take one of those cheap solar panals that you can power you car battery with, and somehow hook it up to a microwave, or coffee maker or something like that?

Is there any other easier way to do this.

The whole goal is to not use electricity.

Where online can I buy a solar power panel that can charge up a simple car battery to full charge?
    I am building a sun-power generator for a remote encampment/retreat!

I need to know anything ya’ll know about maintaining and holding length of charge in a simple car battery.

The idea is to drive as far as possible then take the battery out of the car and bring it with us to use an inverter to have house-hold power in the wilderness.

What can a 1 watt solar panel power?
I’m thinking of getting a solar panel for my house to help cut back on power use (I live in New Mexico). What sort of appliances can I run on a 1 watt solar panel? Is it worth it to get a single watt panel or is it more efficient to get a multi-watt panel?

Solar Power Panel 12″ x 12″: How much energy can be generated?
What is the Voltage/Wattage generated from one-square foot of a Solar Panel? Using different materials and temperatures? Electrolysis of water to produce O1 H1 H1 is my goal.

What voltage is required for One US Gallon of Water to be converted, and how much O1 H1 H1 would be created?
