Successful Affiliate Marketing ? Building Multiple Income Streams

By valeri On August 20, 2010 Under Affiliate Marketing

Most people working today go to their office or factory, do their job, go home and get paid. This is a single stream of income and this is a dangerous place to be. If you are made redundant, sacked, take ill or even retire your only source of income has been turned off. This is not an enjoyable experience when your only source of income is turned off. Affiliate marketing is a way for a person to receive income for selling somebody else’s goods. However by selling one product the affiliate marketer can quickly find that what was once a good revenue generator can quickly be turned off as the market changes or legislation outdates your product. That is why it is imperative that as an Affiliate Marketer you have more than one string to your bow and more than one revenue stream. In this article I will help you work on building these additional streams.

People reading this article are probably new to the business and may have only one affiliate income stream running but hopefully it is delivering a nice steady income. The first thing to evaluate is how you selected your first affiliate program. Was it something you were interested in? How did you start it up? How successful has it been? How do you market it? If you have been successful with one affiliate program then you should be looking to see how you can replicate this success. Is it a niche area you are currently selling into? Is there another product within your niche that complements the product you are currently selling? Is there another program you can join that will enable you to sell something new to your niche area? Will you be able to sell it using the marketing and promotional tools that you currently use? If you can find another program within your niche that you believe you can sell alongside your current product then go ahead and get started and start building another income stream. Then look for the next complementary product.

If you cannot find a product within your current niche that you believe will sell or you want to open up a new business area then you need to take a different tact. Again look back at how you started with your first affiliate program. The marketing and promotional tools that you used to gain a foothold with your first program need to be re-evaluated. Will the tools work in a different area? How did you target your client list in your first program, are these clients transferable to a new niche or will the tools you used to build your current client list be applicable in other niches? If you believe you can use the clients or tools to move into a new business area then go ahead join the program and get working on building your second income stream.

Within Internet Marketing the tools and techniques required to be successful are usually common; finding quality traffic, driving it to your website, selling to them and then looking for ways to sell to your clients multiple times. If you have successfully completed this with one program in one niche and delivering good revenues then you have every right to believe that you have the necessary skills and drive to be successful in other affiliate programs and to be successful in affiliate marketing.
