The Importance Of Unlimited Disk Space, Bandwidth, and Domain Names When Purchasing Website Hosting

Website domains are heading out the door extremely quick in today’s modern age. This means that more website hosting is needed to support all of the content and traffic each site receives throughout time. People often overlook hosting and deem it to be a cheap, unimportant aspect of maintaining an efficient website. They get ripped off without knowing it, and pay a huge price for it. I’ve seen companies charge into the hundreds for simple web hosting and refrain from letting users access essential components of their website account.

There are three main things that a qualified hosting company should have when trying to sell web hosting, and that’s disk space, bandwidth, and allowable domains. All of which should be provided without numerical/percentage limits or caps and for a low price. It’s important for consumers to understand that these three main components are extremely cheap for the hosting company, therefore, they shouldn’t be forcing you to pay over $10.00 a month to receive those features within your hosting package.

For some of you I know that there is one huge question throbbing in your brain, which is why these features are so important to consider when searching for the right hosting company. Let me go over the basics of each individual piece and explain to you why all of them are crucial to running and maintaining an efficient website.

Bandwidth- In simple terms, bandwidth is a measurement of data and content that is sent from a server to a computer. Every time you visit a website you’re eating up bandwidth off the website’s server. This means that a website with no bandwidth is a website that wont get any traffic. When you’re using a hosting company that enforces limitations on the amount of bandwidth you’re allowed to utilize that’s dwindling your chances of receiving large amounts of traffic. If you go over a designated cap on bandwidth you’re site will be shut down or you may be subject to overage charges. Disk Space- Disk space, otherwise known as web space, is basically a measure of space on a particular server(s). When hosting companies implement limits on the amount of disk space you’re allowed they’re preventing you from creating unlimited content. This can be a huge disappointment for writers and bloggers as it withholds them from what they love doing, creating content. Disk space shouldn’t even be an issue with hosting. If you’re not getting it unlimited, you have no reason to be doing business with that particular company. Unlimited Domain Names- Although this feature isn’t mandatory when searching for the right hosting package it is an important piece to consider in regards to the future. Although when you initially build a website for the first time you may think that it’s the only website you’ll ever own you may start to consider developing new ones. In this case, you’re going to need a hosting account that will provide you with unlimited allowed domains. This will allow you to host multiple websites on a single hosting account. Being able to host unlimited domains will make your overall experience less stressful and will also make less of an impact on your finances.

These three things should be the main focal grounds when you make a decision on an adequate web hosting company. If any of these features are missing from the puzzle you’re most likely going to have an excruciatingly horrible experience with your website(s) and you’ll also be feeling the financial pressure pretty hard in your wallet. Just remember: unlimited bandwidth, unlimited domains, and unlimited disk space.
