Things To Consider When Buying Bunk Beds With Stairs
Are you considering purchasing bunk beds with stairs? Me too!
I am in the process of researching different bunk beds for my daughter’s room as well, and I wanted to share a few things I’ve learned so far about bunk beds with stairs.
First, the benefits…
#1. Stairs are generally safer as they’re easier to get up and down for little ones. Ladders tend to be a little trickier for kids to master, but of course they will with practice.
#2. Most of the stair bunk beds have storage right in the steps! Now, if that isn’t a great use of space, I don’t know what is. If you have a nice sized closet, you may even be able to skip getting a dresser, giving you even more room AND saving you money.
#3. I personally think this is the most important benefit. Imagine yourself at the top of a ladder trying to change a sheet. Now imagine yourself on the top of a step. Which one is easier? I don’t know about you, but I prefer easy!
Now, some of the things you need to watch out for…
#1. In general, you’ll have to see what the recommended age is for bunk beds. Even though most of them have railings all around on the top bunk, it’s still possible for a child to fall out if they thrash around at night.
#2. Consider if your child gets up a lot at night, or has accidents. Now, in this instance, I really do believe having stairs would be a much better choice than a ladder. If your child needs to get up at night, in the dark, stairs would be much easier to navigate.
#3. Bunk beds with stairs are pricier, but again, if you can skip out on the dresser due to the extra storage in the steps, then it may even out in the end. Or you may even end up spending less!
I hope this information has been useful to you. I’m still navigating through the wild world of bunk beds myself (OK, it’s really not THAT wild. LOL). Keep up with my findings, or share information with me at my blog and online bunk beds store at QualityBunkBedsWithStairs.com
