Work at Home Moms and the Myths About Them
If you are a mom who has a job outside the home, you may find that you are a little envious of those mothers who get to stay at home to work. But, in your envy, you may also believe what you’ve heard about them. The following are some myths about work at home moms and then the real truth about them. Who knows? You may just want to change your life and be one yourself!
They Don’t Work That Much! Most work at home moms often work more hours than they would in an outside job. Just because you see them in the park everyday with their children in tow does not mean they haven’t already put in six hours of work. Most mothers find they get up earlier to get some work completed before the kids wake up for the day. Then, once their kids go to bed, you’ll often find them finishing up their work before they finally retire. The fact is, mothers who work from home may work flexible hours, but it’s almost guaranteed that they’ll work more than forty hours a week.
They Lead an Easy Life! What could be easier than working at home? Not working at home. When a mother works from home, she is juggling with all of her normal daily tasks, such as dishes and laundry, taking care of the kids, and making time to get her work done, so that she can earn a paycheck. Multitasking is a must and if you find you can’t multitask, you may as well get a job outside the home. For those who think that mothers who work out of their homes lead an easy life, they should just try it for one day.
They Don’t Make Much Money! Work at home moms may actually make more than what they could make in an outside job. Because they are their own boss, they get to choose what type of work they do and set the prices for the work completed. Whether they are freelance writing, doing consulting work, or doing data entry, they also do not have to take the added expenses of commuting and childcare out of their pay. In the end, most will end up with a larger paycheck than their outside job provided them.
